Yorkshire estate agents Dacre Son & Hartley aim to expand with franchise offering
Yorkshire estate agentcy firm Dacre Son & Hartley is launching a franchise offering with an aim to grant at least six sales and lettings licenses to franchisees across the North of England over the next 12 months.
The firm, which has 20 branches across Yorkshire, dates back to the 1820’s and currently employs more than 120 staff and has a turnover of around £7 million.
Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential sales and franchise director says: “The recent improvements in the economy and the property market make this the ideal time to bring our franchise offering to the market.
“We have a very successful business model that has stood the test of time and continued to thrive despite some challenging economic conditions. We are keen to grow the business and franchising is the next logical step in our overall offering.
“Our brand, people, marketing, strong office network and diverse range of both residential and commercial property services give us a unique edge that many entrepreneurs will no doubt want to be a part of.
“We want to offer our style of agency to more buyers and vendors both here in Yorkshire and further afield. There are some areas where we are already very well-known through our commercial and land development work that are crying out for a decent residential offering.
“Our footprint of exposure therefore reaches well-beyond our key trading areas in North and West Yorkshire and this will no doubt be of great benefit to a franchisee.”
Initially licenses will be granted to franchisees in key towns and cities in the Yorkshire region where Dacre Son & Hartley do not currently operate, but the franchise business model will be available to a wider geographical area in the near future.
In recent years Dacre Son & Hartley has opened offices in Settle and Boroughbridge and the senior appointments of Paul Wilson, Hugh Mortimer and Claire Scott have also enabled the agency to expand its presence in North Leeds as well as into Bedale and Northallerton.
To support the franchising launch Dacre Son & Hartley has joined forces with a Midlands-based estate agency which has implemented a franchise business model to open over 15 new branches within just three years.
Dacre Son & Hartley will run the franchise operation and provide a comprehensive training programme for franchisees from its head office in Ilkley.
