Vision Express backing means success is in sight for North East water skier

For 15-year-old water-skiing hopeful, Harry Young, keeping his eyes in good health has never been more important, which is why the British Waterski and Wakeboard 2014 squad member is thankful for support from Vision Express.

Harry from Lobley Hill in Gateshead has been water-skiing for nearly 10 years. As a member of the 2014 British Waterski and Wakeboard squad, on behalf of his club, Hazelwood Ski World in Lincoln, Harry took fourth place in this year’s British National Youth Championships, under 17s.

A regular visitor to the Vision Express Metrocentre store, for the past three years the staff have followed Harry’s achievements and supported his success by providing his lenses.

During his tournaments Harry participates in the slalom, trick and jump disciplines. This year alone he has participated in a number of competitions across the UK.

Harry’s mother Louise Young said: “Our wholehearted thanks go to the staff at Vision Express Metrocentre for their continued expert care and support. Getting sponsors on board is critical to ensure Harry can continue to train and compete.

“Maintaining his eye health is so important, particularly as he spends so much time in the water.”

Sue Wales, team leader at Vision Express Metrocentre added: “Over the past few years we have loved our visits from Harry and Louise – it is refreshing to hear how well a youngster from Gateshead is doing on the competitive water-skiing circuit.

“By providing his lenses, we hope that Harry knows we are backing him to the winner’s podium and wish him continued success in his tournaments.”
