Manchester lighting specialists sparking expansion to Middle East market
LED commercial lighting specialist, One Electrical, has appointed two new senior staff members to support its ambitious growth plans.
Mike Page joins the Manchester-based manufacturer and distributer of own-branded lighting and wiring accessories, as quality manager.
He will be responsible for quality inspection, quality control and product reliability testing to establish superior quality assurance systems and improve supplier management.
Mr Page will work to refine the company’s strict four-step quality process, which includes product certification at source, factory batch testing prior to despatch, in-house UK batch testing and third party testing at an accredited test house.
He said: “LED technology is developing at such pace that I am thrilled to be joining an ambitious business where I can truly make my mark.
“In today’s global supply chain its essential to specify high quality, superior functionality LEDs that can withstand rigorous quality control tests and stringent audit checks, all whilst delivering outstanding service.”
The company, which sells entirely through the wholesale channel and already operates in Johannesburg, Dubai and China, has also recruited business consultant, Hassan Ramady, to spearhead its Middle East expansion.
Mr Ramady joins as an advisor to the board and will work to open markets through his vast networks gained over almost four decades in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) across the oil and gas, power generation, construction and solar industries.
He added: “One Electrical is a highly successful company with a determination to grow and I am delighted to be joining a team that’s knowledgeable, passionate and highly skilled.”
Gerard Hall, managing director of One Electrical, said: “Attracting Hassan and Mike to the company is a crucial element in our aggressive growth strategy to help build on our success in the UK and overseas.
“Hassan’s invaluable local knowledge of Middle Eastern markets combined with our technical innovations will enable us to create highly sustainable solutions that support the region’s vision to reduce energy consumption and capitalise on its current growth ahead of EXPO 2020.”
“Mike will also enable us to deliver superior quality control and deliver world-class standards at a time when there’s a growing need to address and improve systems throughout the lighting industry.”
