Work starts on Coda’s new Roomzzz Aparthotel project
Work is about to start on a major new Aparthotel development created by award-winning Sheffield architectural practice Coda Studios for the historic city of Chester.
The new development for the Roomzzz Aparthotel group will see the creation of a 64 room Aparthotel in a former office building close to Chester Race Course.
The project, which also includes a penthouse floor, is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015.
Chester City will be the sixth location for Roomzzz Aparthotel who are well documented for their success in working with existing buildings and converting them into luxury Aparthotel use.
Prime examples are developments in Manchester and most recently Newcastle.
Both schemes are used as model operations and are successful showcases of how a conversion into an Aparthotel can benefit a city by attracting high spend and longer staying visitors.
Roomzzz Aparthotel blend the luxury of a hotel with the convenience of a serviced apartment and currently operate in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
Coda received the commission to help expand the Roomzzz brand in the face of stiff competition from four other major regional design companies.
“This is an extremely important project for us and we are delighted that Roomzzz have chosen to work with us,” said Coda Managing Director, David Cross.
“The Chester project is, we hope, going to be the start of a long and fruitful partnership on both sides and one that will ultimately see us designing a Roomzzz Aparthotel for Sheffield as well as other cities across the UK, given the Roomzzz planned expansion programme.”
