Newcastle electrical wiring producers to expand internationally
Newcastle-based manufacturer of industrial engine controls, CMR UK, is marking 30 years in business with plans for further growth and expansion into Chinese and Indonesian markets.
CMR UK, currently employing 80 people at its Silverlink factory, is seeing demand for the precision engineered products and solutions, particularly from customers in China, India and Korea where it expects continuing strong demand.
The company is also gearing up to meet the increasing requirement for advanced instrumentation technology for natural gas applications and the new regulations that come into force in 2015 aimed at reducing diesel engine emission levels.
CMR is targeting an additional 30% in sales over the next three years while looking to invest further in equipping its workforce with the skills required to meet the demands of emerging engine technologies, marine systems and reciprocating machinery.
CMR UK, one of the 50 fastest growing businesses in the North East, is seeing strong demand for its electrical wiring harnesses, monitoring and control systems from within the global CMR Group and international OEMs.
These include many of the world’s leading manufacturers of high horsepower engines whose products are used to power marine vessels, mine haul trucks, trains and industrial equipment both onshore and offshore.
Now, the New York Industrial Estate-based firm has celebrated three decades of growth and £20 million in sales.
Group operations director, Neil Wilkinson, said: “We operate in highly competitive, global markets but thanks to investment in skilled people and advanced new technologies, we have been able to keep pace with and indeed, stay ahead of ever changing market conditions.
“This has enabled us to secure our national and international position as a leading supplier of precision engineered solutions, backed-up by a strong reputation for quality and service.
“This is a very exciting time for CMR. We will retain our values, ‘Can Do!’ attitude and commitment growth while staying highly responsive to customer needs.”
