Olympic acrobatic centre approved for Camberley creating 20 jobs

Planning permission for a new Olympic-standard acrobatics venue in Camberley, Surrey has been granted.

The centre will employ eight full-time and 20 part-time staff and equipment will include full men’s and women’s apparatus, including sunken trampolines, foam pits and aerial equipment.

Members of Surrey Heath Borough Council’s planning committee unanimously voted to overturn an officer’s recommendation to refuse Prime Acrobatics planning permission for a new centre.

Council planners said converting the disused unit would result in the loss of significant commercial floorspace in the town’s core employment area.

However, councillors believe that the employment benefits of the centre outweigh the downsides described by the officer.
