Breaking the Ground in Chester

Patrick Parsons’ Environmental and Energy team has recently finished ground investigation work at Tarvin Primary School in Chester.

The site investigation was required as part of a proposed extension to the existing school building due to high demand for places from the growing local community. There was excitement from the pupils of Tarvin Primary as Patrick Parsons ‘broke the ground’ and kicked off the development procedure with the ground investigation.

The investigation proved local ground conditions to allow the foundation and super structure design process to begin, all of which will be undertaken by Patrick Parsons’ in-house teams.

Patrick Parsons conducted the site investigation in August this year, with work on the £900,000 extension set to start in January 2015 and be completed by the summer. This is part of a £3.4m package of works recently secured by Patrick Parsons with Balfour Beatty on rebuilding two primary schools in the area.
