The Rise of Convenience Stores
MANCHESTER SET TO HOST INDEPENDENT RETAIL EVENT THIS WEEKEND
As the region’s economy continues to grow, convenience stores have been tipped as one of the fastest growth sectors in retail; providing huge returns for the local economy.
To support the continued growth of independent retailers in 2015, forward-thinking retailers and leading suppliers will converge on EventCity, Manchester on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th October for betterRetailing LIVE; a free event aimed at helping independent retailers develop their business skills and prepare for a more profitable 2015.
The event features a host of networking and learning opportunities, with workshops and presentations from some of the industry’s leading thinkers, including John Pal, Senior Retail Lecturer at Manchester Business School and Chris Gamm, Editor of Retail Newsagent.
Nick Shanagher, spokesperson for betterRetailing LIVE, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting this event in Manchester. The city has one of the most innovative retail landscapes and one of the largest numbers of independent retail stores outside of London, so it’s the ideal spot to host such an influential event.
He added: “As independent retailing continues to go from strength to strength, events such as this have become a valuable asset for small independent businesses to take advantage of, particularly with the likes of the big four now encroaching heavily in the convenience sector.
He continued: “The show is designed to address key challenges in the industry, explore best practice and to help independents set their store up for a successful future.”
Better Retailing Live will take place at Event City, Manchester on Sunday 5th October 10am-5pm and Monday 6th October 10am-4pm.
