Ripon 4x4 supplier expands with help from bank funding

Ripon-based 4x4 Accessories & Tyres Ltd is purchasing new land as it embarks on an expansion supported by NatWest.

4x4 Accessories and Tyres​ based on the A1 at Leeming Bar Industrial Estate in North Yorkshire, imports vehicle parts and accessories from Europe and Asia which it distributes to customers in the UK and EU.

Established in 1993, the company initially traded from small office premises in Ripon, North Yorkshire before moving to its premises on the industrial estate.

The business currently operates from five separate warehouses across two neighbouring sites.

Tim Snowden, managing director of 4x4 Accessories & Tyres said: “The new site has over four acres of space, which is double what we currently have.

“It can accommodate circa 150,000 sq.ft of storage and distribution space which will allow for future expansion of the business.

“Much of our stock is quite bulky so it’s important that we have premises which can accommodate this. Our current two acre site is fully developed and we are full to the gills.”

“The new site gives us more options and flexibility and ultimately we can offer our clients better choice and in some cases shorter lead times or bespoke logistics – We can offer bulk storage instead of using the clients own facilities “. NatWest relationship manager Chris Matthewman provided 4x4 Accessories & Tyres with funding to support the industrial land acquisition.

Chris said: “I was delighted to support 4x4 Accessories & Tyres as it looks to expand. It’s a great business and I wish them every success for the future.”
