What is Cloud Accounting and how can it help me?
Imagine an office without paper, a business where you can issue invoices on the go, a business so efficient that you take a picture of a receipt on the go and have it saved into your accounting system. This is all available in the world we live in today and it’s all made possible via ‘the cloud’.
So what is ’the cloud’?
‘The cloud’ is a simple enough idea, take all of your information and store it remotely via the internet. Cloud Accounting uses the same principal, take all of your financial information and applications, and then store them via the internet. This makes it accessible wherever you are in the world. We use ‘the cloud’ almost everyday without realising it. Online Banking, Social Media, Netflix, Apple Products are all on ‘the cloud’ so why not use your accounting system this way?
How can it help my business?
Just last week, I uploaded a picture of my Dog to Facebook using my smart phone, I then replied to some comments using my iPad, before finally making it my profile picture on my work computer. There was seamless integration between them now apply this same model to cloud accounting and you get; a sales invoice raised by your employee on their smart phone, you then check the profitability of the whole contract on your iPad.
