Housing association appoints new Director

Broadacres Housing Association has appointed Andy Powell as its new Customer Services Director.

Andy, who has joined the organisation from Thirteen Group where he was Head of Housing, is heading a new corporate directorate which encompasses a range of areas including housing management, community involvement, a young persons’ homelessness service, older peoples’ services, women’s refuge and services for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.

The 52-year-old said: “I am excited to have responsibility for a new department and working with my very experienced and dedicated team we are looking forward to further improving the quality and range of services we provide to people across Yorkshire and the North East.

“Even after only a few weeks in the role it is evident there is a real human level to the organisation and an appetite for doing new, exciting and worthwhile things.”

Andy, who lives in Redcar and is married with two children, has spent his whole career working in social housing.

He added: “It is surprising just how many services Broadacres provides and it is important we promote this to groups and individuals who may not be aware of the different support we can provide.”

Steve Towers, Chief Executive of Broadacres, said: “We are delighted to have someone of Andy’s calibre on board at Broadacres. He will play a crucial role in ensuring we continue to provide excellent customer service, value for money and meet a wide range of needs across the communities we serve.”
