There’s something in the air – Cheshire charity re-launches with national campaign

Cheshire-based charity Care2Save is celebrating going from strength to strength following today’s (7 October) national high-profile re-launch with the help of TV presenter and actress Donna Air.

The charity enlisted the glamorous Ms Air to greet excited browsers and unveil their pop-up shop, Care2Save Boutique, which landed just off Oxford Street, London, for a one-day-only event as it marked the revamp of Care2Save (www.care2save.co.uk).

Care2Save, based in Winsford, is the only shopping website run by a registered charity which gives 100% of the commission generated from purchases to charity at no extra cost to the shopper. The commission is split into two; 80 per cent goes to a registered charity of the shopper’s choice enabling them to help their chosen charity in the UK and the remaining 20 per cent goes to the Care2Save Charitable Trust, which supports hospice and palliative care in the UK and globally.

Shoppers at Care2Save Boutique were offered a taste of the six million products available on the Care2Save website from over 2,000 high street retailers: from Topshop to Travelodge, Halfords to House of Fraser.

Every product in the Boutique had a price tag on so shoppers could clearly see how Care2Save works. So, for example, for an Expedia holiday costing £899, Expedia will give 3.5% commission (£31.46) to charity. Eighty per cent (£25.16) goes to a charity selected of your choice and the remaining 20 per cent (£6.29) goes to the Care2Save Charitable Trust to support hospice and palliative care. That’s how easy it is.

Donna Air commented: “This morning has been brilliant, it’s great to know there’s now a way to raise funds for your favourite charity just by shopping online! I’m a proud supporter of Macmillan Cancer Support, Race for Life, Sport Relief and Jeans for Genes and it’s amazing to think that I can continue to support all of them just by doing my shopping via Care2Save.co.uk where there are over 2,000 high street retailers to choose from – just click, shop and help change the world – what could be easier?” Andrea Fragata Ladeira, CEO of Care2Save said: “Shopping is one of the UK’s favourite pastimes and now through Care2Save people can shop with a conscience knowing that they are raising funds for their favourite charity as they do so. We created the Care2Save Boutique to show shoppers how easy it is to raise money for their favourite charities as they shop through our site.

“Every sale made through Care2Save will support hospice and palliative care for adults and children across the UK and around the world. We are delighted to be launching during Hospice Care Week (6-12 October) because hospice care will touch all of our lives at some point; whether for ourselves or those close to us. Together through Care2Save we have the opportunity to transform the hospice sector and to raise significant sums for other charities in the process. We sincerely hope as many people as possible will make Care2Save their shopping website of choice for Christmas and beyond.”
