Proximity hosts two IBM i specific seminars in November
Attendees at two Proximity events in November will learn about the latest functionality and features available from BCD Software, Quadrant Software and Raz-Lee Security for the IBM i.
Both events are being held at Avnet’s new offices at The Capitol Building, Bracknell.
On Tuesday 25th November, a full-day seminar will focus on developing, modernising and mobilising the IBM i. Presenters from BCD Software, Quadrant and Proximity will provide insight into productivity tools for IBM i programmers such as Presto, WebSmart PHP and Formtastic.
There will also be an opportunity to hear how Zend Server can be used to leverage the power of programming language PHP to develop web and mobile applications on the IBM i. Other subjects covered during the event include an introduction to Presto Open Access; how Formtastic can be used to create custom designed forms, cheques and bar code labels; and driving business intelligence with new solution, Business i.
Practical, hands-on workshops will give attendees an opportunity to use the WebSmart PHP, Presto and Zend tools to develop their own desktop and mobile web-based applications.
On Wednesday 26th November, attention switches to protecting organisations from insider threats, cyber-attacks and external security threats. The half-day seminar is being held in conjunction with Raz-Lee Security, a leading international provider of security, auditing and compliance (SOX, PCI, HIPAA, etc.) solutions.
There will be a mixture of presentations and practical, hands-on workshops exploring Raz-Lee’s iSecurity suite of products for protecting an organisation’s IBM i, including safeguarding multiple applications and infrastructure in a data sensitive environment; user management; and ensuring compliance with external auditors. Round table discussions with Raz-Lee are available after the event closes.
Each company attending either event will receive an Android tablet, which can be used during the hands-on workshops.
