F1 simulator car installed at Oldham Scalextric racing centre thanks to RBS funding
Stoneway Raceway becomes first business in the North of England to have latest F1 simulator Model thanks to funding from RBS.
Funded with the support of a loan from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the simulator is the very latest F1 model available and is based on the 2014 McLaren and Force India car.
It is the only full size F1 simulator of this model available in the North of England and enables enthusiasts to experience the thrill of racing around a real F1 circuit.
Based on Hartshead Street in Lees, Oldham, Stonerig Raceway currently has eight Scalextric tracks for customers to race and experience in total.
The new F1 simulator is expected to attract a lot of additional customers to the centre, generating additional revenues and promoting growth.
Gareth Stone, owner of Stonerig Raceway Limited said: “The new F1 Simulator is excellent and is already attracting a lot of interest and attention.
“It is great fun to drive and also gives users an opportunity to test their racing skills and strength.
“The car’s steering wheel even has force feedback which gives users a more exciting experience — feeling all the twists, turns and bumps in the road.”
Jenni Seymour, business manager at RBS Rochdale added: “Stonerig Raceway is a fantastic attraction and Gareth has put in a lot of hard work to create such an excellent business. The new F1 simulator is a brilliant addition to the venue and has already proved to be very popular with customers in only the two short weeks it has been installed.
“We wish Gareth the best of luck with the new attraction and are excited to continue to work alongside the business as it continues to grow and expand.”
