Clovemead appointed to deliver Warrington Bank Park plans

The regeneration of Warrington’s Bank Park has taken a further significant step forward after planning approval was granted last night to demolish the existing dilapidated pavilion building and approval was granted to construct a new one.

Approval was also granted to install two floodlit all weather bowling greens with perimeter fencing.

The new pavilion will provide changing spaces for bowlers, a café space and a new terrace area.

Warrington based Clovemead Limited has been appointed to undertake the demolition and construction works having been procured via The Chest.

Works will start on site in November for completion in mid 2015.

New landscaping works surrounding the construction of the new pavilion and greens will also be undertaken including the planting of new trees.

Earlier this year the original historic path layout was restored opening up the park and setting the scene for the new pavilion.

Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: “This is a major step forward in improving our wonderful Bank Park and restoring its vitality.

“We had a fabulous response to our public consultation regarding the park and we have tried to accommodate the views of everyone in shaping the plans for the bowling greens and the pavilion”.

The refurbishment of Bank Park is part of an ambitious programme launched by Warrington Borough Council to work alongside the people of Warrington to improve and regenerate the town’s parks called ‘Your Parks, Our Parks’.

All of the town’s parks are included and works are well underway at Walton Hall Park and Victoria Park.
