Harrison Drury invests in the future with trainees

North West commercial law firm Harrison Drury has recruited three new trainees as part of its latest intake of legal ‘apprentices’.

Rhian Hawkins, Laura Brereton and Jack Stephenson have secured training contracts with the firm and will become qualified solicitors after two years of working with its various legal departments.

The three appointments mark a significant expansion of the firm’s training programme which has already seen many qualifying solicitors going on to have successful legal careers with the firm.

Owen McKenna, a director at Harrison Drury, said: “Our training programme allows us to attract and develop some of the brightest legal minds in the region. This talent continually refreshes the firm and gives people the chance to take forward their career by working on a wide range of legal matters.

“We have offered training contracts in each of the last six years and this year’s intake of three trainees reflects our desire to continue growing the firm.”

Laura previously worked as a paralegal at a firm in Blackpool specialising in personal injury law. She graduated from Durham University in 2010 and completed her Legal Practice Course in 2011 at the College of Law in Chester.

Rhian had been working as a paralegal for Harrison Drury since June 2013. She has a Law Degree from the University of Central Lancashire where she also gained a distinction in her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Jack holds a law degree from the University of Central Lancashire. He has previously worked in various areas of law including professional negligence, personal injury, noise-induced hearing loss and litigation.
