Legal bible accolades for law firm hlw Keeble Hawson

hlw Keeble Hawson is celebrating success across 17 practice areas in the newly released Legal 500 rankings.

Twenty one lawyers are recommended across both commercial and private client practice areas.

The firm, one of Yorkshire’s largest with offices in Sheffield, Doncaster and Leeds, is ranked as one of the best for employment law in South Yorkshire. Retaining its position in the top tier, the team is led by practice head Barry Warne, who specialises in tribunals, high-value executive severances and TUPE advice.

Roger Dyson heads the “very capable” commercial team, which acts for large regional corporates such as ELG Haniel Metals and Pressure Technologies. The firm’s commercial property department is recommended for its work in both South Yorkshire and Leeds.

The Sheffield commercial litigation team provides a “genuinely faultless service” with a strong base of local engineering and manufacturing clients. Head of the team, Ron Whitlam and partner Michael Peacock are singled out for praise.

For the first time the firm is ranked for sports law – with the team led by Giles Searby acting for clients including Southampton FC, Chesterfield FC and Doncaster Knights RUFC. Debt recovery in Leeds, insolvency and corporate recovery and the firm’s intellectual property team are also rated by the legal bible.

Legal 500 also recommends hlw Keeble Hawson for private client practice areas, including personal tax trusts and probate, headed by George Connell, family law led by Vanessa Fox and clinical negligence, where Janet Baker’s team has particular expertise in birth injury and personal injury.
