Broadcast deal takes Manchester United’s in-house TV channel to the Middle East
Manchester United and Middle East broadcast company STC have extended their partnership, with the Saudi firm taking up exclusive rights to broadcast the club’s dedicated MUTV channel in the Gulf region.
This is the first time MUTV has been broadcast continuously in the Middle East, giving STC Invision subscribers unprecedented access to behind-the-scenes footage, documentaries and breaking news, as well as live commentary of every Manchester United match, including reserve and youth team games.
Not only is this the first time MUTV will be shown continuously in the region but the channel will be broadcast in HD - the only dedicated football club channel available in this format.
Manchester United Group Managing Director Richard Arnold said: “Since forming our partnership in 2008, STC has demonstrated its expertise in developing and delivering outstanding products that meet the needs of our fans.
“By making MUTV available via its HD subscription channel to the almost four million Manchester United followers in the Middle East, STC is helping our fans to get closer to the club they love.”
Saudi Telecom, the largest telecommunications services provider in the Middle East, and Manchester United Football Club have signed a five year agreement uniting the two number one brands in marketing campaigns and promotional activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Telecom has exclusive rights as the Official Mobile Communications Partner of Manchester United in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with access to unique mobile phone content, including video highlights of goals and match footage, ringtones, text and news alerts.
