Hartlepool Council make funding available for sports business projects
Funding is still available for projects that aim to get more Hartlepool people active although time is fast running out for bids to be submitted.
The Community Activities Network (CAN), a partnership of organisations that promotes and provides sport and physical activity opportunities in the town, has a pot of money that it is seeking to distribute to local groups.
The maximum award per project is £10k a year.
The deadline for funding bids to be submitted is December 1 for projects scheduled to start in March next year.
Applications will be considered from groups and organisations outside of Hartlepool, but only if they can show that they attract people from the town whose needs cannot be met from within Hartlepool.
Sport and Physical Activity Officer with Hartlepool Council, Rachael Graham, said: “Groups or clubs that apply for this money must be able to demonstrate that there is a clear need for their project and that it fills a gap in provision within a particular area.
“It is also important to stress that sustainability is a key element of any application as CAN funding cannot be guaranteed over subsequent years.”
