Cheshire’s Pochins kickstarts four major projects
Construction and property development company Pochin’s Ltd has celebrated the commencement of four high profile projects in the North West and North Wales.
The 25,000 sq ft dining space on Pepper Street and a 39,500 sq ft conversion at Grosvenor Shopping Centre on Paddock Row in Chester promises to drive footfall in Chester to invigorate its retail industry.
The £5 million-plus conversion on Paddock Row sees anchor tenants TK Maxx and Sports Direct relocate to the premises on 15 and 10-year leases.
Pochin’s had also been appointed to Glenbrook Property’s £14 million Design & Build residential scheme at the former HMRC tax office on Queen’s Dock, Liverpool.
The conversion scheme started on site this month, and will see the tax office converted into 240 apartments with an onsite gym, community centre and other communal facilities.
Pochin has also secured its third significant North West deal when Warner Leisure Ltd contracted the team to a £6.4 million Design & Build contract for Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel, North Wales.
Jonathan Pochin, managing director of Pochin Construction, said: “For Pochin Construction to have been appointed to a number of major retail, residential and hospitality schemes across the North West and North Wales in one summer is a positive reflection of the continued economic recovery and the return of consumer confidence.
“The succession of project wins also serves as a testament to Pochin’s diverse scope of specialisms, as we remain committed to delivering the highest possible standard on each unique development.”
