Leeds United third most expensive club in Yorkshire in price of football survey

Leeds United came third behind Rotherham United and Bradford City in the BBC’s Price of Football survey, as the top three most expensive days out in Yorkshire.

A day out to see a match at Leeds United’s Elland Road would set you back £28.20 at its cheapest, whilst watching a match and all the trimmings at Bradford City costs £28.40. A day out to see Rotherham United however would cost a whopping £33.

Hull was one of the cheapest football clubs in the Premier League, with a cheapest match day ticket coming in at £16, and second only to Newcastle United for a day out at £24.

This year’s BBC Price of Football study found that the average price of the cheapest match-day ticket in the top four divisions of English football is up 4.4% from 2013.

The BBC contacted 207 clubs for the study. Of those, 176 were in England, Scotland and Wales and another 31 in Europe.

Sheffield Wednesday came in the cheapest at £17.80, Halifax Town was next at £23.80 for a day out, and Hull City followed them at £24.

York City (£25.80), Huddersfield Town (£27), Sheffield United (£27.90), Barnsley (£28.10) and Doncaster Rovers (£28.10) were mid-market for Yorkshire clubs.
