Goldthorpe manufacturing entrepreneur hits £2 million turnover

A Goldthorpe-based business woman, who set up a manufacturing firm during a double-dip recession, has announced that the firm has now hit £2 million turnover after 5 years trading.

Building Product Solutions manufactures windows exclusively for the new build market. The company achieved a turnover of £2 million in the year up to May 2014, trebling its turnover in just five years of trading.

It now has £7.5 million worth of jobs on its books after winning long-term contracts to supply major housing developers such as Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson, Persimmon and Redrow Homes.

Lynne Darwin, sales director at Building Product Solutions was also crowned Business Person of the Year at the prestigious Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards.

Lynne said of her award: “It was a huge honour to even be shortlisted. The calibre of finalists was exceptional and to be recognised amongst such a talented group was in itself wonderful.”

Building Product Solutions, was also shortlisted in the Brook Corporate Developments Manufacturer of the Year category.

The Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber Business Awards, this year sponsored by Solar Europa, is a highlight of the business calendar. Hosted by former World Cup Final referee Howard Webb, it saw the cream of local businesses bid for honour in front of hundreds of guests at Barnsley Metrodome on Friday.
