Yorkshire fitness firm Gravity to invest £1 million and create 35 jobs with trampoline park

Gravity Fitness Ltd. is set to create up to 35 jobs after announcing that it is to open the region’s first indoor trampoline park with a price tag of £1 million.

Bridlington-based Gravity have agreed terms on a 18,000 sq ft unit at Xscape in Castelford, and the development is due to open mid-January.

There are over 300 trampoline parks in America and the concept has now spread to other countries including Canada, Australia, Amsterdam, Ireland, Mexico and Singapore.

In the UK there are only a handful but the Bridlington-based business is already looking to launch new sites over the next few years.

Harvey Jenkinson from Gravity said: “We are delighted to be launching our first site in Yorkshire and are excited by the potential growth in the market.”

Michael Harrison from Gravity added: “The venue is ideally suited to our needs and now we have taken possession we are looking forward to fitting it out and gearing up for our launch.”

James Knowles, Real Estate Associate from the Leeds office of law firm Irwin Mitchell, is advising Gravity. He said: “Trampoline parks are big business in USA and it is hoped that it will take off in the UK to the same extent.

“This is an exciting development for the Yorkshire region and one that we are delighted to be involved with.”
