Morecrofts’ new office takes shape at Cotton Yard
Work is well underway at Liverpool’s Cotton Yard as law firm Morecrofts prepares to relocate its headquarters to the Old Hall Street site.
The Bruntwood-owned development, part of the Cotton Quarter, is undergoing refurbishment to offer around 15,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art office space and a private courtyard.
Formerly occupied by Liverpool’s Register Office, the Grade II-listed space in the heart of the commercial district was once the international centre of the city’s cotton industry.
Morecrofts’ relocation follows its 200th anniversary last year and is set to mark the beginning of a new era for the firm, which recently hosted the second annual Merseyside Independent Business Awards at the Titanic Hotel.
Managing partner Alison Lobb said: “These are very exciting times for the firm and it’s wonderful to see our new home taking shape.
“This is a really important step for us, as Cotton Yard provides a high profile space and excellent facilities to support our growth ambitions over the next decade and beyond.”
Colin Sinclair, head of property marketing at Bruntwood, said: “Cotton Yard is a unique space that is set for a new lease of life with the arrival of Morecrofts; an established figure among Liverpool’s professional community and a perfect new customer for the vibrant Cotton Quarter.”
Work is expected to complete later this year, with Morecrofts relocating in early 2015.
