Ricoh on course for record-breaking festive season

The Ricoh Arena is on course for a record-breaking festive season after revealing a major rise in bookings for its Christmas parties.

At the end of October 2013, Santa’s little helpers in the sales office at the award-winning venue had taken 3,739 confirmed bookings.

But that has risen dramatically this year to 6,809 bookings – an increase of a whopping 82 per cent.

Its Lost in Wonderland themed parties in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall are proving so popular that an extra date of Thursday, December 18, has been added.

Liz Cooper, marketing director at the Ricoh Arena, said the response to its Christmas parties has been phenomenal.

“Our combination of fairground rides and stalls, live entertainment, first-class food and a disco wrapped up as part of a Lost in Wonderland theme is proving really enchanting,” she said.

“We have a different theme each year and in 2014 we have focused on providing a world of adventure – just like Alice in Wonderland experienced.

“This year we have added oversized toadstools, playing cards and teapots for guests to have fun with and guests can also jump aboard the dodgems and have a go at traditional fairground stalls.

“To have increased our confirmed bookings by 82 per cent at this stage is tremendous and reflects the high standard of the entertainment we provide alongside our production company XXX since we receive a high percentage of repeat bookings.

“To entertain diners between courses there will be circus performers and the Jaguar Exhibition Hall will look really amazing when it is transformed into a Wonderland theme with guests entering through a giant rabbit hole!

“Our sales office has been inundated with enquiries and once we sold out the four initial nights on December 12, 13, 19 and 20, we decided to add a fifth date.

“There is another 800 covers available on December 18 which are ideal for smaller companies in Coventry and Warwickshire who are happy to join in the party along with other revellers.

“It promises to be a spectacular Christmas party season at the Ricoh Arena and we can’t wait for the fun to begin!”
