The Town Hall Chambers Conference and Business Centre Grand Opening

The Town Hall Chambers Conference and Business Centre has now been officially opened by the Elected Mayor of North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn.

The grand opening of The Town Hall Chambers was very well attended by local businesses and key council officials.

The new owners of the Town Hall Chambers, Sovereign Adavo, and their team welcomed guests to the Town Hall Chambers with a champagne reception. Guests were then able to experience the newly refurbished reception area whilst networking with other visitors.

Elected Mayor for North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn said: “There is so much happening here in Wallsend and the conversion of the Town Hall into this fantastic, high-quality business venue is the latest in a series of significant improvements for the town. Wallsend is becoming a really vibrant place and I’m sure this new centre will be welcomed by the local business community.

“I am very impressed by the changes and improvements that Sovereign Adavo have made to the former Town Hall building, to create such a prestigious facility.”

Following the cutting of the ribbon by Norma Redfearn, to officially open the centre, everyone gathered in the Grand Chamber where they were able to mingle with other guests and take in the fantastic backdrop that the Grand Chamber offers. There were certainly some gasps of “wow” as guests entered the Chamber.

The guest speaker, Mr Steve Black, acknowledged by The Times “as the best conditioning coach in the world” then took to the stage and captivated the audience as he spoke of his experience and his delight about The Town Hall and what it will give to local communities and businesses alike. Steve has won championships and cups in football and rugby at the highest levels and has coached at international level with Wales and the British & Irish Lions and has also worked in boxing, golf and swimming.

After the speeches guests were treated to an exquisite buffet whilst networking and taking in more of what the Town Hall Chambers had to offer. The Queen’s Chamber (a meeting room seating 12 people) also made an impression on guests as they were told of the history of the room including the visit by Her Majesty The Queen in 1954 (the year of her coronation tour) when she stood on the balcony in the Queen’s Chamber to address the local community on the street below.

Many of the local businesses who attended the event were keen to look around the newly refurbished offices and meeting rooms with the view to either renting a serviced office or hiring the meeting facilities. Tours of the building were arranged and a tremendous amount of interest in the serviced offices was recorded.

Everyone who attended the event were extremely complimentary about the refurbishment of the building which had taken place over several previous months. The building has undergone extensive interior refurbishment which has been considered carefully and sympathetically by the new owners.

Sovereign Adavo commented “we are truly delighted that the event was such a success and we would like to thank all those that attended. Our special thanks go to Norma Redfearn who gave a wonderful opening speech and was extremely complimentary about the work that has been done to the building. We would also like to thank Steve Black for his inspirational talk and the support he has given over the past few months. We are pleased to have been part of the development that is ongoing in Wallsend which will be a direct benefit to the local community and businesses in the area. We now look forward to the future and seeing the centre welcoming new businesses. The centre will accommodate up to 50 small businesses in serviced offices and they have the benefit of onsite parking and the excellent location of being close to the A19 / A1M.”
