Manufacturing space application submitted for Warrington’s Omega development

An application to create the first manufacturing space at the Omega development in Burtonwood at Warrington has been submitted by Omega Warrington Ltd (OWL).

The ‘reserved matters’ application is for a 200,000 sq ft warehouse with 20,000 sq ft of offices, 240 parking spaces and 49 truck spaces in the southern part of the scheme.

The proposed scheme would occupy a plot in the area known as Zone 7 adjacent to the M62 motorway and to the north of Orion Boulevard.

OWL is a joint venture between Miller and KUC Properties, which is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland.

A document supporting the application states that the new proposals “represent the first manufacturing development on the site, with land set aside for the possible future expansion of the proposed building/use”.

In May this year, OWL secured outline permission for 2.1 million sq ft of manufacturing and logistics space at Zone 7.

The Zone 7 scheme also includes a 600,000 sq ft, £100million distribution base for Asda, and a 680,000 sq ft logistics base, which has been linked with online retailer The Hut.
