Another awards nomination for Harrogate based Lime Lace!
Harrogate based business Lime Lace are celebrating yet another awards nomination! They have been shortlisted as finalists in 2 different categories in the Startups Awards 2014.
The categories are; Home-based Business of the Year & Mumpreneur of the Year!
Now in its 11th year, the awards looks to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s most impressive, fast-growth businesses launched in the last three years and spans 15 award categories including Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Tech Business of the Year, alongside new categories for 2014 – Independent Shop of the Year and Restaurant of the Year.
Selected from hundreds of entries, the finalists will now go forward to be judged by a panel of leading entrepreneurs and business experts including Mumsnet co-founder and CEO Justine Roberts, tech entrepreneur and investor Dale Murray CBE, restaurateur Iqbal Wahhab OBE, and Seven Hills and StartUp Britain co-founder Michael Hayman MBE.
The winner of the top prize, the Simply Business Startups Business of the Year, will be judged and chosen from the winners of the other categories.
The Startup Awards winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony held at the Kensington Roof Gardens on Thursday 27 November.
This year’s crop of outstanding finalists will look to follow in the footsteps of former winners which include The Cambridge Satchel Company, Naked Wines, Zopa and BeatThatQuote.com, which was sold to Google for £37.7m. Lime Lace has recently won ‘Best Small Business – North East’ in the Kalixa Awards and is now competing for the overall ‘Outstanding Small Business of the Year’ award which comes with a grand prize of £10,000!
Initially launched as an independent home and gift shop, mumpreneur Samantha King made the decision to launch an e-commerce site – a one-stop market place for designer furniture, home accessories, jewellery and art. After realising the success of the online business, Sam took the decision to close the bricks-and-mortar store in June 2014 and the move has definitely paid off!
