Billingham health business scores international contract wins
Business Health Partners, the Billingham-based health consultants established in 2012, has secured contracts with multinational surfacing solutions company Formica Group and US-based tech firm Compound Photonics.
The business recently appointed Sarah Short a technician, and has seen its client list continue to expand since, with plans for further expansion over the coming 12 months.
Business Health Partners has secured contracts across the region with the likes of engineering and construction firm Cordell Group, Eaglescliffe-based engineering firm Nifco, Yarm-based packaging company RPS and Hartlepool biotech experts Hart Bio among its clients.
Directors Liz and Jane worked for organisations including the NHS, the police service, manufacturing, food and biotech industries as well as local government, before setting up their business.
They work with companies to ensure that comply with health and safety legislation, and that regularly assess the health needs of their employees, which can avoid costly compensation claims if things go wrong.
The company works with a range of clients, some of which simply wish to meet their minimum legal requirements and others that introduce measures to ensure their company looks after its employees.
Business Heath Partners undertake all aspects of employment well-being ranging from lung function testing to meet statutory, regulatory obligations through to advising on employee absence, policy development, risk assessment and audit.
Their work can help firms to reduce sickness absence, improve employee performance and reduce litigation and prosecution costs through legislative compliance.
Director, Liz Short, said: “We work with a broad range of clients, but a key sector for us is manufacturing, and we have seen a real upturn in the volume of work we are undertaking in this field.
“Across the region, some 60,000 people work in manufacturing and engineering, so it is a huge market for us, and one in which there is a real need for specialist support.
“We are a mobile business, so we work from our clients’ office or facility to deliver our support, and our background of working across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, and in large organisations, means that we are really well placed to be brought into a workplace, and to deliver a great level of service to that business.
“There’s a wide spectrum of approaches to occupational health by businesses, but ultimately looking after employees not only safeguards the individual, but it also safeguards the company from the risk of potential problems due to non compliance with health and safety regulations.
“We ensure that, as a minimum, our clients meet their obligations to employees, and that they offer a safe working environment that people want to be part of.”
