CLC bolsters job opportunities for carers in Lancashire

25 new jobs are being created in Lancashire by Preston-based home care specialist Community Life Choices to help get ex-carers back into employment.

The vacancies follow a spike in enquiries from carers across the region looking for new roles that match their specific skill set.

“Of Britain’s six million carers, one in five is forced to leave employment to manage their caring responsibilities full-time,” explains Alan Frew, managing director of Community Life Choices.

“More carers now recognise the emotional and physical benefits of seeking additional support from specialist providers like us, which has no doubt fuelled the recent interest.

“When considering a return to work, a lack of confidence is one the biggest hurdles that carers face, with many doubting their skills and abilities, when in fact; they’ve acquired a wealth of knowledge and life experience that makes them ideal candidates.

“With the number of carers set to rise to nine million in 2034, it’s crucial that employers do more to recognise the transferrable skill set of these inspirational individuals and help facilitate their return to work.”

Community Life Choices enables local people to live independently by providing choice and control in how they receive support.

The firm specialises in the provision of five-star home care to adults and children in need of personalised health and social care services.
