55 new hires for Stagecoach in Chester and Birkenhead
Bus operator Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has increased the size of its teams in Birkenhead and Chester by 55 people over the last 12 months.
The company, which completed the purchase of First Bus operations in the Chester and Wirral areas in 2013, has seen continued demand for its offering in the region and has grown its teams to meet local requirements.
Stagecoach has grown its team at its Chester depot from 81 members of staff to 105, while its Birkenhead staff has grown from 115 to a team of 146.
They have also has added a number of new routes to its timetables in Chester and is now offering evening and Sunday services across a number of its existing routes.
Stagecoach Bus is one of the UK’s major employers, supporting around 24,000 thousand jobs across the UK and 1,209 jobs in Merseyside and South Lancashire.
Managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, Elisabeth Tasker, said: “Our routes covering the Chester and Birkenhead areas are proving particularly popular and we are growing our teams to meet local requirements and ensure we continue to offer the same high levels of service that people have come to expect from us.
“We’re delighted to be bolstering our team and creating much-needed jobs in our local communities and are continuing to recruit for more drivers to service our routes in Chester and Birkenhead.”
