Clegg Construction secures £3.75 million University of Leeds contract

The University of Leeds’ £5.4 million transformation has been given a boost with the appointment of Clegg Construction to a £3.75 million contract as part of the development.

The contract involves a complete overhaul of the School of Mathematics building’s interior to provide a variety of new study environments whilst ensuring the facility, located in the heart of the University campus, remains fully operational.

The building was designed by architects Chamberlain Powell & Bon, a company that became famous in the 1960s for its design of the Barbican in London.

The transformation of the School of Mathematics forms part of the University’s five year £300 million improvement programme and is due for completion next summer.

Clegg, who have offices in Nottingham and Leeds, has also recently started work on transforming 9 Bond Court in Leeds on behalf of Northern Trust.

The £2.1 million contract is the latest development in the regeneration of the Bond Court business area and follows Clegg’s refurbishment of Minerva House earlier this year on behalf of Evans Property Group.
