Crewe’s Bargain Booze to expand into Scotland
Conviviality Retail owner of Bargain Booze has plans to expand into Scotland.
The planned launch is with Scottish Midland Co-operative Society Group and they will act as the exclusive franchisee.
If the trial runs successfully then Bargain Booze stores will roll out across Scotland from June 2015
The same group also own Wine Rack and have franchised nine stores under this name.
The company announced unaudited revenues of £183 million for the 26 weeks ending 26 October 2014.
This was in line with the previous year however store revenue was 1.7% below that of last year.
CEO , Diana Hunter commented, “We continue to maintain focus on our plans and our offer remains as competitive as before.
“With the continued drive to re-fascia our stores, and the development of both the click and collect proposition and our mobile App, we have strong plans to deliver profitable growth for our Franchisees and the Company.
“We are very excited to be working with Scotmid to bring Bargain Booze to Scottish consumers. If successful, this trial has the potential to open up a new long term growth opportunity.”
