Reading management consultancy secures contracts worth £100k in Australia
Management consultancy ORH has secured contracts in Australia with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) worth more than £100k, thanks to UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) South East.
The Reading-based business, which specialises in operational planning for the health and emergency services, has won contracts to supply planning services for the provision of ‘flying doctors’ to access remote parts of Australia.
The company will supply modelling reviews of the Royal Flying Doctor Service across all states of Australia except Victoria and Tasmania.
The order came about after ORH attended two UKTI market visits and took advantage of other UKTI schemes. Chris Polden, Managing Director of the company, said: “Our current turnover and staffing is about double that of ten years ago, before we started exporting. The overseas orders have been essential to our business and being successful in the Australian market is another big step forward for us.
“Since winning an initial tender in 2009, where we helped one ambulance service in Australia to organise their rural cover, the business has continued to grow and we now work across most Australian states - from ambulance modelling reviews in Tasmania to providing fire service software in New South Wales.”
