Merseyside flooring specialist lands major deal with South Korean shipyard
Merseyside-based marine flooring manufacturer Durastic has won a supply-and-installation deal on a major new North Sea platform being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea.
Durastic, which has branches in Liverpool, Jarrow and Southampton, will supply and lay its fire-retardant underlay and flooring products in the cellar deck of a new platform under construction for BP’s £4.5billion Clair Ridge oilfield near the Shetland islands.
BP contacted Durastic about the Clair Ridge platform work following Durastic’s services on BP’s Valhal in the Norwegian North Sea.
Durastic manager David Sinclair, who has overseen the project, said: “This latest work comes after a previous order with HHI to supply products for the Clair Ridge platform’s main module.
“This new deal will, again, showcase the quality and value-for-money of Durastic products, and the very best of our workmanship.”
