This week’s North West appointments

Blackburn headquartered PM+M – a leading chartered accountancy, business advisory and wealth management group – has appointed seven new members of staff.

Tim Farragher has joined the Wealth Management team as paraplanner. Tim has a degree in Mathematics & Statistics as well as qualifications within the financial services sector. He has spent several years working at various financial services companies - the most recent being Moore & Smalley.

PM+M’s Tax team is bolstered by the arrival of new trainee Laura Fort. Laura holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Leeds Metropolitan University. She is now studying for the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) qualification.

Lorna Hargreaves is the latest addition to the Run My Business division; she is an accounts assistant. Her last role before arriving at PM+M was at DSM Chartered Accountants in Whalley. Lorna is joined by Luke Irving who is the team’s new accounts trainee.

Faye Hughes has been appointed as marketing & business development manager. She has recently spent four years working for a digital marketing agency in Paris. She is supported by Daniel Hill who has become a marketing & sales assistant. Daniel is a graduate in Business Administration. He was previously working in the Marketing department of Allspeeds Ltd.

The final new starter is Lauren Ainsworth, business administration apprentice.

Andrew Holmes, Vantage Motor Group

Vantage Motor Group has appointed a Citroën General Manager to drive sales at its Morecambe and Kendal John Wilding dealerships.

Andrew Holmes, from Heysham, joins the Vantage team with 25 years of experience in the motor industry, including 12 years at the Morcambe dealership.

Andrew returns to the centre after spending six years gaining valuable knowledge as a manager in a Citroën manufacturing facility.

Mark Robinson, managing director of Vantage Motor Group said: “Andrew’s knowledge of the Citroën brand is a vital part of this role, and I’m confident that with his many years of experience, he will be able to maintain our high level of customer service. With the new and used Citroën dealership opening at the end of the year, Andrew’s relationships with old customers and his enthusiasm to welcome new ones will be extremely beneficial to both the business and local people alike.”

Alan Pateman-Jones, Nolan Redshaw

Regional Chartered Surveyors, Nolan Redshaw, has appointed Alan Pateman-Jones as non executive chairman.

Most recently, Pateman-Jones was Director General of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, headquartered in the UK but with operational responsibility for 23,000 sites in 153 countries across the world.

Pateman-Jones also undertakes work in the ‘not-for-profit’ sector, acting as a co-opted Member for Action for Children and as a Trustee for the English Heritage Foundation.

Paul Nolan, Director and co-founder of Nolan Redshaw, said, “We are delighted that someone with the profile and business acumen of Alan has agreed to join us as non-executive chairman.

Sue Harris, Champion Accountants

Champion Accountants, has bolstered its executive team to further enhance its offering to firms in the region.

The Worsley-headquartered group has appointed Sue Harris as director at its Chester office.

Harris joins the practice following a three-year stint working as a consultant across a variety of sectors including contracting and construction, providing advice on financial management and reporting, corporate governance, risk management and business strategy.

Managing director of Champion Accountants, Ged Cosgrove said: “It’s a crucial time in the evolution of Champion and we need talented people like Sue at the forefront.

“She possesses first-class knowledge of the SME sector and we look forward to capitalising on her abilities and driving growth in this marketplace.”

Julie Ann Gillespie, Lloyds Bank

Lloyds Bank has boosted its Commercial Banking operations in the North West with the appointment of Julie Ann Gillespie as Education, Community & Government Director.

She will be responsible for public and third sector customers including local authorities, colleges, universities and charities in the Merseyside area.

Julie Ann has worked in various banking roles for the last 15 years, most recently delivering Lloyds Banking Group’s Retail Conduct Strategy programme where she led change across the Retail branch network to support delivery of the Group’s strategy of being the best bank for customers.

Area director for Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking in Merseyside, North Wales and West Lancashire, Glenn Bemment, said: “With the appointment of Julie Ann and her extensive experience of charity work on a voluntary basis, the team in Merseyside is in a better position than ever to provide specialist expertise and guidance, and enable organisations to contribute to the area’s future prosperity.”
