Plan to bring North East businesses together for cloud technology wins NECC support
The North East Chamber of Commerce has backed a region-wide plan to bring businesses together to prepare for cloud technology.
A series of briefings are being held by Brewin Dolphin and cloud experts Atlas Cloud with the aim of uniting different sectors who will be affected by the new technology and creating a network of companies who can exchange and update information and opinions.
Stuart Miller of the NECC said: “The North East has always been a pioneer of new technology, from the railways to the cloud. So it is essential that we all work together when opportunities like this come along.
“The chamber has a long and proud history of making sure North East businesses are strong, growing and have all the help they need to tackle any challenges that come their way.
“What Brewin Dolphin and Atlas Cloud are doing is bringing all their expertise together and giving each sector the chance to take advantage of the latest thinking and understand how closely they can work together.
“The NECC applauds this typical North East enthusiasm to get the job done - and we will continue to do anything we can to raise awareness of the issues and help firms profit from change.”
Pete Watson, CEO of Newcastle-based Atlas Cloud, said: “We have held two of these briefings so far and it is clear there is a great appetite for clarity and guidance to help companies through potentially radical changes to how they do business.
“The chamber’s support is vital to what we are trying to do and we all hope the events with Brewin Dolphin will provide the facts and figures companies need to draw up their individual battleplans.”
Brewin Dolphin director John Duns said: “Investment management and financial planning are at the heart of what we do. It is vital that companies are allowed a clear view ahead, so that they know what is coming, know what it will mean for them and know how to make the right decisions.
“We hope these briefings will add to that knowledge and make forward planning easier for the region’s leading companies who will benefit from the cloud alternative.”
