Birkenhead-based Flynn Refrigeration reports strong year of trade and plans to expand
Birkenhead-based Flynn Refrigeration is reporting its strongest year of trade with turnover surging by 30% and a boost in international work.
The firm delivers the complete refrigeration and air-conditioning package for marine, industrial and energy sectors – including supply, installation and maintenance services.
Its systems and products control temperature in a variety of areas including food stores, accommodation, control and engine rooms.
After posting end-of-year accounts in October turnover now stands at £2.6 million rising from £2 million in 2013.
The company was founded in 2006.
Flynn Refrigeration employs 11 staff on site and a team of sub-contractors working in shipyards across the globe.
Managing director Alex Flynn said, “This sustained period of growth has been driven in the main by our work in the global maritime sector.
“New contracts have been secured across the commercial, leisure, energy and offshore markets.
“They include high-profile deals with some of the world’s leading shipping operators, and the supply of equipment for use on harbour boats, bulk-carriers, offshore vessels and cruise ships.
“We greatly benefit from having a solid reputation which leads to high levels of repeat business.
“The exports increase has been underpinned by our growing network of international agents,”. “We are building a strategic network with a presence in countries including Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Latvia.
“Looking forward we will be expanding on this and also looking to grow our staffing base here in the UK, in Birkenhead.
“Although our supply division is generating strong growth, we believe it is our servicing operation which holds the greatest potential.
“This includes the manufacture, installation, removal and maintenance of refrigeration and air-con systems.
“We are currently working on ambitious plans to secure a series of servicing agreements partnering with engineers in major international ports.
“This will enhance our global reach and ability to secure greater volumes and more lucrative servicing contacts.”
