Partner Construction joins forces with Northumberland housing association in £3.6 million scheme
Two Castles Housing Association, working in partnership with developer Partner Construction, has built 25 energy-efficient homes for rent in Longframlington as part of a £3.6 million scheme.
The new development, at Healeycote View on Rothbury Road, comprises a mix of two-bedroom bungalows, as well as two, three and four-bedroom homes.
All of the properties have been allocated to people with a strong local connection, with the vast majority being from the village itself.
With support from Northumberland County Council, the development received a £510,775 investment from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA)’s Affordable Homes Programme.
Rob Brittain, property services director at Two Castles Housing Association, said: “Demand is high across Northumberland for affordable housing and our development at Healeycote View will provide much-needed, modern housing for local people to rent.
“All of the properties were quickly allocated to families with a strong connection to Longframlington, meaning people who might otherwise have been forced to move away are now able to enjoy high-quality housing in their community. By working with partners to provide these homes we are helping to maintain and build a sustainable community for the future of Longframlington.”
Paul Graves, area manager from the HCA, said: “It’s great to see Healeycote View finished and ready for local people to move in. Not only does the scheme help address the need for more affordable housing, it is also pleasing that it provides homes in a rural area, where availability is particularly scarce.”
