Massive growth for Coventry recruitment company

A specialist recruitment company in Coventry was shortlisted for a national entrepreneur award after recording a massive year-on-year growth.

Expedient Recruitment in Warwick Street, Earlsdon, was among six finalists from businesses across the UK in the Most Impressive Growth category at the National Entrepreneur’s Convention which is run by Nigel Botterill Entrepreneur’s Circle.

Andrea Richards and Darren Standbridge, who receive financial help and advice from Baldwins Accountants, were delighted to be shortlisted in the first business awards they have entered.

“The Most Impressive Growth category was focused on recognising businesses who have achieved major growth over the last 18 months,” Andrea said.

“Collectively, Darren and I have around 35 years’ experience in the recruitment industry and we set-up Expedient Recruitment in Walsgrave in 2008.

“Two years ago we decided to re-locate to Earlsdon and that has proved to be a great decision because the business has flourished.

“We have recorded 47 per cent year-on-year growth as we continue to specialise in providing temporary and permanent workers for industrial, warehousing and driving sectors.

“We never want to stand still so we became members of Nigel Botterill Entrepreneur’s Circle which has really helped us to invest time in looking at how we run our business and not just concentrate on looking after the business on a day-to-day basis.

“We have never put ourselves forward for business awards before and we were really pleased to get through to the final six.

“It has spurred us on to set new targets and to remain focused on growing the business.”

Andrea added: “The support of Kevin Brevitt from Baldwins Accountants has been invaluable in our rapid development.

“He is in regular contact and is always coming up with ideas and ways to improve the way we run our business.

“We are now outsourcing our payroll and invoicing which we had considered before but he provided us with ways in which it could be achieved. Baldwins Accountants are very hands-on which is really important when you are constantly growing.”
