New jobs created as Halifax firm PU Components’ assets sold to Cheshire company

New jobs are to be created after the assets of Halifax firm PU Components was acquired by a Cheshire packaging solutions company

With funding support from NatWest, Middlewich-based Northern Corrugated Cases Ltd, which specialises in the development of foam packaging cases purchased the assets of the Halifax business which had been producing and supplying it with frames.

As part of the acquisition three people who had been working for the acquired firm were given jobs by Northern Corrugated Cases, which is headquartered in Middlewich, and more jobs are to be created during the next year.

Howard Emery, managing director, said: “The acquisition will help us streamline the business and our product development as we will be able to complete a function that had been previously done by a third party.

“The assets include a good product which we are familiar with.”

He said the property purchase also includes land which might be used as the company expands in the future.

Howard sought the support of NatWest relationship manager Chris Steele to obtain funding to support the acquisition and property purchase.

Chris said: “I was delighted to support Northern Corrugated Cases on this deal which secures its business development for the future. I wish the business every success.”
