Last Chance Savings And Energy Efficiency Gains With Sale

North East home owners have just a few days remaining to take advantage of additional energy efficiency savings through Warm Up North’s end of autumn sale.

Following the recent introduction of Warm Up North’s first renewable energy product, residents could now make annual savings of up to £880 by having solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed.

To help home owners maximise savings and their home’s energy efficiency they have until Sunday November 30 2014 to benefit from the scheme’s sale before the winter takes hold, which is offering savings of up to £1,400 on the installation of a 4kWp system.

As part of the initiative’s solar provision, following a home survey Warm Up North’s energy experts will recommend a system tailored to each customer’s individual requirements and budget, with prices starting at under £4,500 for a 1.5kwp system.

As one of the UK’s largest energy efficiency schemes, residents can also benefit from added peace of mind as Warm Up North is endorsed by nine North East local authorities and its Solar PV measures are installed by British Gas – which has over 17 years’ experience working in the residential solar market.

Jon Kershaw, head of operations at Warm Up North, said: “Following the introduction of the first renewable energy product to our portfolio we have received a fantastic response from home owners in the North East looking to save even more energy and money.

“For those interested in the installation of solar PV panels we are offering substantial discounts on selected systems that will allow home owners the opportunity to reduce their energy bills, whilst earning additional income.”

Under the Government’s ‘Feed-in Tariff’ initiative, home owners are paid for each unit of electricity generated from their solar panels and any unused electricity is sold back to the national grid. Home owners can also make savings on their monthly bills as they will not need to buy as much electricity from their energy provider.

Feed-in Tariff rates are set by the Government for up to 20 years and rise in line with inflation, meaning home owners could make up to 12.8% return on investment.

Designed to tackle fuel poverty and reduce energy bills, Warm Up North works in partnership with nine North East councils including Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Newcastle, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.

In addition to its Solar PV provision, common energy efficiency measures available through Warm Up North range from cavity wall insulation and loft insulation to new efficient boilers. To find out more, or to arrange a home survey, residents should call the Warm Up North team on 0800 294 8073.
