Treske plays pivotal role in restoring Altrincham church to its former glory
The leading independent furniture and kitchen manufacturer Treske has played a crucial role in the major refurbishment of the Altrincham United Reformed Church in Trinity Hale, Cheshire.
Thirsk-based Treske, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, was chosen to provide a selection of bespoke church furniture including a bespoke sanctuary set, featuring a glass-topped communion table, lectern, table-top lectern and font stand.
The company also supplied the main nave seating in the form of solid beech, upholstered lightweight stacking chairs and three large screens.
Justin Bartlett, the managing director of Treske, said: “This was an excellent project for us, which strengthens our position as the leading manufacturer and supplier of church furniture for the North West. The feedback we have received from Trinity Hale has been tremendous, which is always very satisfying.”
The vicar of Trinity Hale, the Rev Brian Jolly, believes that Treske’s contribution to the regenerated Trinity Hale has been pivotal and invaluable.
The Rev Jolly said: “We have had an excellent working relationship with Treske. They have played a crucial part in transforming our beloved church from an imposing building into a welcoming place for everyone to meet. The aim was to create a warm, elegant and vibrant interior. Treske delivered exactly what was required. He explained: “Treske had done some highly-acclaimed work in the surrounding area, including St Peter’s, Hale, All Saints’ Hale, and St Bart’s, Wilmslow and I very much liked what I saw on the company’s website. In the event, we worked exceptionally well together.
“Our church team had a very clear idea of what we wanted and I was amazed at how quickly and how brilliantly Treske’s senior designer Mike McIntosh interpreted and incorporated our thoughts into his designs. It was uncanny. The results matched, and exceeded, our expectations.
He added: “In addition, Treske inserted a Jerusalem Cross, made of Palestinian olive wood, into the top of the altar table, which meant a huge amount to me personally and was also a consummate piece of craftsmanship.”
Treske has undertaken ecclesiastical projects for high-profile churches across the UK, including Ripon Cathedral; Bradford Cathedral; St George’s Chapel, Windsor; and St Martin-in-the-Fields in central London.
