Hull recruitment agency acquired by Lancashire firm for an undisclosed sum

Hull-based recruitment agency Flexible Staffing has been acquired by Bury-based counterpart Assist for an undisclosed sum.

Assist employs over 7,000 people across the UK, providing resourcing to high-demand and specialist environments in the logistics, retail supply chain, food production and manufacturing sectors.

The acquisition was part of a structured expansion plan for its driving and logistics offering.

Flexible staffing was formed in 2011 and provides driving resource solutions into the transport and logistics sector across East Yorkshire.

Dave Dargan, CEO said: “Its great news that we have been able to expand our driving and logistics capabilities in East Yorkshire and are continuing on our journey to build one of the most capable resourcing businesses in the market.

“Everyone at Assist is looking forward to welcoming on board the team at Flexible Staffing”

Kevin Chute, managing director said: “This is a key part of our strategy, we are creating stronger capabilities in our customers localities and in building new relationships for our business.

“We are looking forward to working with our new customers and the team in Hull in what is already a successful business.”

Peter Bibby of AB Corporate LLP advised Assist.

Robin Prestage, senior manager at Cowgill Holloway Corporate Finance, who worked closely with the Flexible Staffing shareholders and led the process, added: “The company has a great reputation for reliability and customer service with a number of blue chip clients in Humberside.

“The acquisition by Assist Resourcing Group is a fantastic result, its allowed the shareholders to crystallise the value that they have built up over several years and now gives the company the ability to develop further and expand its range of services.”
