Working together to build a smarter, cleaner future for our planet
The world’s population has reached 7 billion and is forecast to reach around 9 billion by 2050. As the world’s population grows as will our need for water, food and energy. In fact, in fifty years, global demand for energy could be 75% higher than today.
In order to meet increasing demands, we will need a radical change in the global energy system, along with a wider, more sustainable mix of energy resources.
Finding the right energy mix will be a challenging journey, which is why Shell has invested around $1 billion in R&D every year since 2007, enabling our team of highly skilled scientists to work on uncovering new and exciting energy solutions for the future.
To create this world of tomorrow, we will need the help of others. We want people to share ideas and inspirations can help shape the world for generations to come. At Shell, we want to work with people around the world who can help us #makethefuture. Our goal is to inspire a new wave of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians who will help create a smarter, cleaner energy future for our planet.
At Shell, we strive for a world in which ideas are nurtured, innovation is encouraged - we believe that even the simplest ideas can evoke significant change; the power of people’s ingenuity lie the answers to tomorrow’s challenges.
By inspiring people to consider careers in the science and environmental industries, we hope to ensure that progress on this journey keeps pace with the world’s growing energy challenges.
