Barnsley and Chesterfield care groups acquire £4.5 million care homes
Barnsley-based Strong Life Care Ltd and Chesterfield’s Westwick Group have acquired care homes worth a combined £4.5 million with the help of the Sheffield office of Lupton Fawcett Denison Till.
Lupton Fawcett Denison Till completed the purchase of two care homes in Nottinghamshire.
The first was the purchase of the entire share capital of Hallmark Care Homes (Tuxford) Ltd on behalf of Strong Life Care Limited.
Located on the outskirts of the city of Nottingham, Tuxford Manor is a purpose built care home which can accommodate 45 residents in single occupancy rooms.
The second purchase was of Whitwell Park on behalf of the Westwick Group, which has its head office in Chesterfield. Located in the village of Whitwell in Derbyshire, the modern purpose-built care home provides personal care for five residents and nursing care for 35 residents with learning disabilities.
Corporate finance lawyer at Lupton Fawcett Denison Till, Max Kennedy, who is recognised as an expert in healthcare by the Legal 500, completed the deals on behalf of his clients.
Speaking about the transactions, Max Kennedy, said: “Having personally been involved with around sixty sales over the last decade I have witnessed many changes in the care home market.
“The demand for high quality, purpose built care homes providing residents with top quality care is on the increase and there will be a growing need for ones like Tuxford Manor and Whitwell Park.”
Alex Bell of the Westwick Group commented, “I have worked with Max for a number of years and I find his help and advice invaluable. Buying a care home is certainly not straightforward so having him acting for me provides me with the confidence to know that he will look after my interests and the purchase will go as smoothly as possible.”
David Palmer of Morgan La Roche solicitors in Swansea acted on behalf of Hallmark Care Homes with Lisa Wallis of Taylor and Emmett Solicitors in Sheffield representing the vendors of Whitwell Park.
