Business expert holds event for North West entrepreneurs

The event, which is being organised by Karen Melonie Gould, CEO of WorkBiz Academy and alternative business and finance growth hub Gateway2Enterprise, is an opportunity for local businesses to get together, network and share knowledge with other professionals and business experts. It offers the chance for budding entrepreneurs to meet inspiring speakers and receive a range of business advice and support.

Over 50 entrepreneurs and mentors from WorkBiz Academy’s Work and Business Enterprise Club are expected to attend the event, which will take place on Friday, 12 December 2014 at the Conservative Party Office at 1 Stafford Road in Warrington from 10am.

The morning will feature a number of master-classes delivered by WorkBiz Academy mentors who will provide expert advice for people looking to start and grow their business. The classes will look at leadership and management, and growing a business. Classes will run from 10am until 1230pm, and lunch will be provided. Then from 3pm, there will be a presentation of Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) certificates and a Christmas networking event.

David Mowat, Conservative MP for Warrington South, will be in attendance to present certificates to members of the Work and Business Enterprise Club who have successfully completed the ILM Level 5 work programme for professionals and executives. David Mowat, who sponsors these work programmes, will also be speaking at the event along with special guest Susan Kemp.

Susan recently won Start-up Business of the Year at The National mumandworking Awards 2014 after setting up Appleton Baby Massage in 2013. She will be discussing the support she received from WorkBiz Academy and will share her experiences with other budding entrepreneurs.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and business experts. Food and drink will be available.

Karen Melonie Gould, CEO of Gateway2Enterprise and Workbiz Academy, said: “We understand how difficult it can be for entrepreneurs to get their businesses off the ground and to know what help is available to help them grow.

“We wanted to hold the event so that these people can meet their peers and those who have already succeeded in business. They will also be able to receive a wealth of advice and support on the issues that really matter to them such as finding the right staff, funding and professional services providers.

“We are really looking forward to meeting entrepreneurs from the local area and helping them along the road to success. We are particularly excited about presenting the ILM certificates to those who have completed the course and taken the first step towards a bright new future in business.”
