Planning submitted for Otley Road residential development in Harrogate

Planning has been submitted for a new residential development on Otley Road in Harrogate from Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water.

The two acre site, which is adjacent to Yorkshire Water’s clean water treatment works has been identified as prime for residential development and incorporates designs for a mix of market and affordable family homes in-keeping with the locality.

The Keyland team will be entering into discussions with potential housebuilders seeking to purchase the site with planning consent and bring the development to fruition.

This will be the third partnership of this nature that Keyland has undertaken in the Harrogate area following successful planning consents for 46 homes on Harlow Moor Road, which are presently under construction by Miller Homes, and 50 houses on Cornwall Road adjacent to The Duchy Estate where Linden Homes is now on site.

Peter Garrett, managing director of Keyland Developments Ltd, said; “The very limited available development land in this prime residential area, which has long been recognised as one of the most desirable addresses in the town, increases the significance of this strategic site which is ideally suited to new homes.

“Prior to agreeing the deals with Miller Homes and Linden Homes on the neighbouring sites for which we secured planning, we had high levels of interest from housebuilders recognising the value of sites in this area and we anticipate similarly strong interest in this opportunity.”
