Blyth Workspace set to open for business

The landmark new development, which will be known as Blyth Workspace, is due to open for business in the turn of the New Year.

The workspace will help to regenerate the long term vacant site and help to enhance Blyth Estuary’s reputation as a centre of excellence in energy and research.

Over the next three years Arch, The Northumberland Development Company is leading the delivery of a mixed use development of the wider Commissioners Quay site as part of the broader regeneration of Blyth Estuary and town centre.

The development on Blyth Quayside will be available for occupation from March 2015. Businesses requiring space are being encouraged to take a look at the new building and Arch are taking reservations now and arranging tours around the site.

Arch has appointed Amy Doonan, former Manager at The Quadrus Centre in South Tyneside as the new Blyth Workspace manager.

Blyth Workspace consists of first-class, contemporary managed offices in a striking quayside location, it is a highly energy efficient building, with state-of-the-art facilities, professional reception, dedicated ultra-fast broadband, free parking, rapid electric car charging points, and 24/7 security services including CCTV.

Businesses can also benefit from 5 years free Business rates, subject to meeting criteria as the building is located on an Enterprise Zone.

Nestled between the Port of Blyth and Narec and adjacent to the desirable area of Ridley Park, the superb new serviced office accommodation consists of approx. 1,950 sq. m (21,000 sq. ft.) of high quality new office space to let with a range of office sizes from 20 sqm to 100 sqm, meeting and events spaces, high quality landscaping and access. The space is flexible to provide larger offices if required.

The development has received investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Competitiveness Programme 2007 – 2013, the Homes and Communities Agency, Arch and the North East Local Enterprise Partnership’s North East Investment Fund.

Blyth Workspace Manager, Amy Doonan, said: “It’s a superb opportunity to work for a company as experienced in this field as Arch and one I’m very excited about.

“I’ve been involved in facilities management for six years and I see the creation of the Blyth Workspace as a major positive step for the town and the surrounding area”.
