Huddersfield marketing entrepreneur triples clients and plans to expand after 4 months
Huddersfield marketing business, KC Communications, which was launched as a part-time enterprise, has gone from strength to strength with contract wins and new employees after only 4 months.
In August 2014 Katrina Cliffe started the business with just 2 clients on board, now she manages 7, two of whom Katrina manages multiple projects for.
Initially starting on 4 days a week to cover the bills and the cost of bringing up children Katrina says she is now passionate about growing the business in both terms of clients and employees.
KC Communications offers marketing consultancy and management services and the business has grown significantly in a short period of time.
At the end of November KC appointed an apprentice marketing assistant, Johanna Green, who will be undertaking an NVQ in Digital Marketing & Social Media.
Projected turnover for the year ending August 2015 is projected to be £60k and a number of other projects and clients are in the pipeline.
Katrina has been in marketing for over 10 years having worked across a variety of different industries and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Katrina said: “I started my business as I wanted the flexibility to work across a variety of sectors and disciplines but ultimately to have my own business and the flexibility that brings, especially with a family”
“I would like to take on another employee in the next 12 months although this may be someone with a couple of years experience in the industry.
“There’s plenty of scope for the future but I don’t want to have a huge team, I want a select group of people around me who are as passionate about the business as I am.”
